Derby Arboretum

Derby Arboretum

Talbot Landscapes are fortunate to have Derby City Council as a customer and have completed contracts at the historic Derby Arboretum, England’s first public park.

The Grade II* listed park was the first publicly owned, landscaped, urban, recreational park in England and contains many original and historic features.

We are enormously proud of our horticultural work in this significant landscape including the reinstatement to grassed areas covering both seeding and turfing and the full preparation and establishment and maintenance of, considerable specimen trees and shrubs present on site.

Within the park there are sports surfaces, historic buildings, a famous orangery, many statues and features (some of which date back to the mid 1800’s) together with a vast number of specimen trees, shrubs and plants.

It is a beautiful piece of our heritage and we are honoured to have done our little bit towards sustaining this landscape for future generations.
